Uintah Simulations

The University of Utah’s Carbon Capture Multidisciplinary Simulation Center (CCMSC) software framework (Uintah) is used to simulate a myriad of fluid / structure interactions.  A primary application is simulating a 1000 MWe oxy-fire clean coal boiler being developed to deliver high efficiency electric power generation while performing carbon capture. Our goal is to use Uintah for this and other similar extreme-scale computational simulations of large eddy (LES) based algorithms.

The PIDX I/O library has been integrated with Uintah in order to support I/O scaling on 100K+ cores.
